Canadian regulations for importation of equine semen from the United States you will need to obtain an import permit from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
It is recommended that you obtain a multiple entry permit which is valid for one year and the cost is $60.00 (Canadian). Copies of this permit or the original copy for a single entry permit will be required to be sent to our farm in order for us to expedite the semen shipment to your mare. We will not be able to ship semen to you unless we have these permits in our hands at the time of your call for semen order.
In addition, we are required to obtain a U.S. Health Certificate for each shipment and charges for additional paperwork and USDA veterinarian signatures will be applicable. USDA-APHIS charge for the signing of US Health Certification on shipments of equine semen to Canada fluctuates due to federal regulations.
